Wang Yungchiu’s works merging influences from the distinct but interrelated fields of art, design, architecture, and history, each painting engages with geometric patterns and colors as a way of abstraction while pitching seemingly polar opposites against each other, generating portals into the realms of the subconscious. While soft colors and hard textures mingle and mix on a single plane, repeating shapes and small changes in perspective, scale, and color guide the viewers to discover the essence behind the familiar.
