Zhao Meng is currently a researcher at Harvard University’s Fairbank Center for East Asian Research, actively exploring the inheritance and development of traditional Chinese art in the modern era. A graduate of the Ceramics Department at the China Academy of Art, he is the first Chinese artist to have his works permanently collected by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. His pieces are also held in the collections of the Rietberg Museum in Zürich, Switzerland; the Cincinnati Art Museum in the USA; and the Contemporary Ceramic Museum of Seoul in South Korea, among others. As a contemporary artist, Zhao Meng revives traditional Eastern values in his creative philosophy while innovating within Western modern art on this foundation. This approach earned him the Gold Prize at the 53rd International Ceramic Competition in Faenza, Italy, establishing an artistic bridge between East and West, tradition and modernity.
