London-based painter Tommy Camerno sees his works as a dual choreography, a matter of posing, between the viewer and the painting itself, but also with the room it's set in. Drawn to grey, pale or sweet and almost edible tones, Tommy tries to find his own colours based on sky colours that create a peaceful and soothing atmosphere.
Camerno graduated in 2022 with an MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art and previously studied at UDK under the English artist Josephine Pryde in Berlin. He was a finalist for the 2022 Ingram Prize. His works have been shown internationally in Germany, Italy, UK and USA. Recent exhibitions include: Within Reach, Sid Motion Gallery (2023); A Line Made by Walking, Upper Gulbenkian Gallery, London (2022); Ecarlaté, Antoine Schafroth, London (2022); Domestic Limbo, Antoine Schafroth, London (2021) ; Plan View, Cell Studios, London (2021); Hyperbole, Galleria Nicola Pedana, Naples (2021); The Edge, The Columbia, London (2020); Against the Wall, HVW8 Gallery, Berlin (2020).
