Soka Art is delighted to announce the dual exhibition "Various Solemnity" by Wang Tingyu and "Farewell" by Po Chiao Ling, scheduled from January 27 to March 9, 2024.

Soka Art is proud to kick off 2022 with Ting-Yu Wang’s new solo exhibition, Heavenly Waters. The exhibition will be held for 8 weeks from January 8th to March 5th. Echoing his previous exhibitions “Charting with Constellation” (2016), “Sky Messenger” (2019), and “Verdiales of the Forsaken Hamlet” (2020), this exhibition is named after one of the eight constellation families, Heavenly Waters, which mainly focuses on Aquarius and water-related themes. Unlike his previous works, the artist now places a greater emphasis on color arrangements as well as gaming elements and concepts that lead viewers to explore seemingly familiar images and ponder the profound meaning behind each painting.

The COVID-19 pandemic that swept across the globe in 2020 has interrupted many human activities and connections. International trade has become stagnant, and interpersonal contact has been restricted. Many people are forced to isolate themselves at home over long periods as a way to fight the COVID-19 outbreak. On the other hand, the pandemic also prompted many long-term foreign workers to return to their hometown, and back to the familiar embrace of their families. While re-adjusting to their new lives back home, communicating and getting along with family members as well as maintaining and enhancing the quality of home life have become important.

Soka Art is proud to announce that we will hold a solo exhibition of "Verdiales of the Forsaken Hamlet" Wang Tingyu from August 26th to October 3rd. In this new solo exhibition, Wang Tingyu breaks away from the single outline between the constellation and the map, gradually transforms into the concept of geographic cartography, and begins to focus on the collocation between images and extend new meanings.

In 2019, Soka Art will launch its first exhibition of the year, Sky Messenger, presenting 13 works of Wang Tingyu and also his first-revealed three-dimensional sculpture. Sky Messenger actually re-arranges all the images of the whole world. Ancient people used myths to form different constellations, and Wang Tingyu tries to adapt the mythology and then searches, stereotypes, typesets and paints on the canvas.

Zhang Yingnan(b. 1981)is from Beijing, Mitsuhiro Ikeda(b. 1978) is from Japan, Wang Ting Yu(b. 1981) is from Taiwan. Three young artists of different origins and geographies from three different places in Asia are also exhibited at Soka Beijing. The three artists are quietly painting people, through the traditional picture of painting to tell the inner feelings, or to build a personal "charting with constellation". The three artists first solved the technical and surface form of exploration and training, turned to the real creation, the expression of the community, the personal feelings for the new world, to build as an individual inner world images.
