In 2019, Soka Art will launch its first exhibition of the year, Sky Messenger, presenting 13 works of Wang Tingyu and also his first-revealed three-dimensional sculpture. He was awarded the 2008 Taipei Award and the 2009 Kaohsiung Award, therefore is one of the hottest artists among the Taiwanese art industry recently. The exhibited works continue the artist's longing for mythology and depict him as an archaeological researcher who puts together the undiscovered mysterious images on the canvas. The information on the Internet is developing rapidly, and it changes our lifestyle in terms of food, housing, and so forth. The ancient printed text is gradually replaced by emerging visual images, allowing viewers to perceive a certain implication behind the symbolic message without reading a large amount of text.

Sky Messenger actually re-arranges all the images of the whole world. Ancient people used myths to form different constellations, and Wang Tingyu tries to adapt the mythology and then searches, stereotypes, typesets and paints on the canvas. The "Constellation Map" serie is a common fact of both the eastern and western myths - tracing the beginning of human civilization. Wang Tingyu's creation is closely related to his life. He chooses to replace the brushstrokes with a large number of images, and uses different constellations as the theme of imagination. What’s more, he applies visual vocabulary to explain things, which is different from the gorgeous décor in the past. By reducing the color saturation, he uses the purest tone for "stacking line-drawing method" and "grinding technique" to present the texture of the image and the classical effect of engraving and rubbing. Also, he tries to put the convex line texture in the image, just like the visual image of bas-relief. He recalled that his grandfather once shared "The world is like a coin. We live on one side of the coin, and the other side is heaven." It reveals that the world we see is not the whole picture. In Wang Tingyu’s works, the viewer can step into Wang Tingyu's world without too much speech.

Creation to the artist, is like the infinite reorganization and reproduction to the movable type, one must go through repeated discovery of the land do they find the original appearance of the message. Coincided with the first 2019 Taipei Contemporary Art Fair, Wang Tingyu's solo exhibition Sky Messenger will soon open to the public. Accordingly, Soka Art will extend the opening hours until 9pm on Jan 16th. On Jan 19th, special attention has to given to the influential music producer, Zhang Junfei, who created the exclusive music for the Sky Messenger solo exhibition. Zhang Junfei will play the song with piano, which is purely peaceful, to unveil the artistic feast of dual sensory enjoyment.
