Taisuke Teshima, who was born in Fukuoka, Japan, graduated from the Institute of Sculpture Department of Tokyo University of Fine Arts, and won the "60th Yamaguchi Art Award" Grand Prize, and his works were also collected by the Japan Modern Art Promotion Foundation. With its unique creative style and cute shapes, Daisuke Teshima's works will be the focus of attention at the Taipei Art Fair in 2021, setting a record for sales.

Daisuke Teshima was instructed by the modern Japanese sculptor Tadayoshi Sato during his college days, and began to touch wood carving during his research institute. His works use camphor wood as the main medium, supplemented by colored pencils and acrylic colors, and some are decorated with Gold leaf, exudes the pure and delicate brilliance of Japanese aesthetics. In ancient Greek sculptures, creators' pursuit of human body lines and the beauty of balance are often seen, while Teshima's works try to find the unbalanced state and respond to the world with rounded shapes and humorous gestures. Looking closely at the faces of each doll, it looks like elements of traditional Japanese Buddha statues, with expressionless faces or wide-open eyes, calmly observing the surroundings, their movements are like thinking on the wall, or sitting lazily, like the life of modern people. portraiture. Teshima integrates the ancient Japanese woodcarving process into the soul of modern people. Through manual scoring and soft color stacking, the fragrant camphor wood is transformed into a warm and touching piece of wonderful works in the artist's hands.In this first exhibition in Taiwan, "Unknown Eyes", the artist hopes to explore the unknown at the end of the world through the calm and pure eyes of the characters in the work, staring and listening to more different possibilities.
