As a graduate from the Hokkaido Institute of Design, Iida has won countless awards in Japan's art community.  She was also nominated for the Shell Art Award for two years in a row from 2003 to 2004. Her nostalgic and fantastical style was exceptionally received at many famous international art expos, such as Art Basel Hong Kong, Young Art Taipei, Tokyo Contemporary Art Fair, Artists' Fair Kyoto, and Art Nagoya. Her work is a popular choice among many entrepreneurs and designers seeking to collect. The works of Iida Kiriko, who has enjoyed many years of popularity in Asia, continue to be hot, consistently sparking widespread discussion whenever a new work is put on display.

Born in Hokkaido, Iida creates art that is rooted deep in the heart by means of quiet and tranquil character visuals and mysterious Yakiguni scenery.  They merge the spiritual and natural beliefs of Hokkaido's indigenous Ainu people with her own dreamland imagination to create works of mystery and fantasy with clean scenes and deep characters full of cold elements - snow, white, quiet, and calm. Within her snow-white fairytales one can always find elf-like youths and children with faces so fair they might crack, cheeks and eye sockets frozen red through and through, and glances and expressions rich with spirit and diversity, innocence, mischief, melancholy, and purity that emit their own individual charm and character and attract our tender affections. Each work is like a marvelous freeze frame out of a fairytale, with meaningful looks and interactions between characters or frolicing adventures with all the beings of the forest, all full of intense dramatic tension and infinite imaginative space while also reflecting the mutual harmony and pursuit of beauty between the people of Hokkaido and nature.
