  • Spiegel im Spiegel - Solo Exhibition of Uzo Hiramatsu & Susumu Takashima

    Feb 27 - Apr 03, 2021

Soka Art is honored to introduce to you the new exhibition "Spiegel im Spiegel" in 2021. This exhibition is named after the representative work "Spiegel im Spiegel" by Arvo Pärt, one of the most successful composers of the 20th century. This song is composed of three simple notes, which embodies the spirit of minimalism and gives the listener a feeling of infinite extension. Just like the works of #UzoHiramatsu and #SusumuTakashima, the purest form and composition create unlimited possibilities.

The COVID-19 pandemic that swept across the globe in 2020 has interrupted many human activities and connections. While re-adjusting to their new lives back home, communicating and getting along with family members as well as maintaining and enhancing the quality of home life have become important.

  • I Created Trees with a Seed - Chi Chien Solo Exhibition

    Nov 28, 2020 - Feb 26, 2021

Soka Art is proud to announce that from November 28, 2020 to February 26, 2021, we will cooperate with Kaohsiung Jianshan, which has been committed to promoting life aesthetics for a long time, to launch artist Chi Chien’s"I Use One Seed Creates Tree" new solo exhibition. This exhibition continues Chi Chien’s "Back Garden" series of works. The "Garden" is the artist's desire for the remnants of the scene after the war is ravaged, a kind of systemic edge of mutual interference between the public and private spheres. The word "after" gives the garden two meanings. One is a private domain where secrets and memories are buried, and the other can be interpreted as a transitional place, which has the meaning of "new". The plane passing through the garden is like a sharp needle, nailing the viewer's gaze. The issues hanging in the air seem to be large or small, as large as a regime’s invasion and threat, as small as a child holding a toy plane and flying in the sky. Memory.
